VIRTUAL MEETING

All members are invited to participate in TXCPA’s virtual Advocacy Day and Midyear Board of Directors and Members Meeting, and virtual legislative visits on the afternoons of January 26, 27 and 28.

This year’s meeting will be a held online via Zoom. Registrants will receive the Zoom details for the meeting in the registration confirmation email. Additional information and meeting materials will be shared in the coming weeks via email. Show your chapter pride by using a custom background for the meeting and also get tips for an efficient Zoom meeting experience.

Advocacy Day

January 26, 2021 | 9 a.m. – noon
General session

During Advocacy Day, you’ll hear from engaging expert speakers on topics like the recent election, major issues facing the legislature during this session, issues affecting CPAs and the accounting profession this session, and TXCPA’s legislative priorities. We’ll also help you prepare for advocating in a virtual environment.

Virtual Legislative Visits
January 26, 27 & 28 | Afternoon 

While our program will be virtual, and groups will not be allowed to visit the Capitol for Advocacy Day as we have in the past, it is still very important that we reach out to our legislators and have a strong presence. Because this is not business as usual, we will need to coordinate these visits differently than in years past. We are planning virtual afternoon visits with legislators on Tuesday,  Wednesday and Thursday (Jan. 26-28).   

The TXCPA Government Affairs team is currently working with legislators to schedule dates and times for legislator meetings. As members register for the meeting, they will be asked to confirm their willingness to participate in a legislative visit. Registrants will receive a calendar invite for their respective legislator visit, based on the member's home address, once date and time are confirmed for those meetings. You can check the address TXCPA has on file in your member profile.

Midyear Board of Directors & Members Meeting

Join us to hear updates on the new Strategic Plan and Diversity and Inclusion initiatives as well as updates on the future of the profession from a panel of industry leaders

Virtual Coffee Networking
January 27 | 8:30 a.m. – 9 a.m.  

All registrants are invited to attend a coffee networking session, sponsored by CPACharge, Wednesday morning prior to the Board meeting. This session will be held in an online platform, Remo, which will give attendees the ability to visit different "tables" and video chat with others.

Please note: Except in the case of a past chairman or a past TXCPA president, absence from three consecutive meetings of the Board of Directors by any director shall terminate his Board of Directors membership unless reasonable explanations are submitted by the director and are accepted by the Executive Board.
