A Message from new Chapter President Ginger DeLatte
I am excited and thankful to start this new TXCPA year with all of you. My name is Ginger DeLatte, and I am a Professional Assistant Professor in Accounting at Texas A&M – Corpus Christi (TAMUCC). I am also your chapter president for this year. I look forward to partnering with you and the Society as we navigate current challenges and opportunities throughout our profession – I am extremely thankful for the work the Society has done to protect our license and support/encourage the next generation of CPAs.I was born and raised in the New Orleans area and came to Texas for college. I graduated with my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Baylor University. I had an internship with a big 4 firm in audit and decided industry was a better fit for me. I spent almost 10 years in industry and have spent the last 11 years teaching at TAMUCC. I primarily teach Federal Taxation 1, Financial Accounting and Managerial Accounting. My favorite part of my job is mentoring students through their education and as they start their careers.
I have been married for over 20 years to my husband, Brian. We have two wonderful children – Taylor and Joshua –and enjoy spending time together traveling and visiting national parks. If I am not at work or home, there is a good chance you can find me cheering my kids on at the tennis courts.
