What inspired you to pursue a career in accounting and obtain your CPA license?
I pursued a career in accounting because I knew it would be a great field to work in. Accounting is a field with consistent demand and opportunities across all industries. I knew accounting would offer me a stable career with opportunities to help contribute to the financial success of organizations and people in my community. Obtaining my CPA license was a great benefit, as it provided me with more credibility and further career advancement opportunities.

What excites you most about working in accounting?
As my financial accounting professor once said, "Accounting is the language of business!" Working in accounting can be exciting when you have an opportunity to help others through your understanding of that language. Whether it be working to help people save money on taxes or helping companies in your area reach their goals, I believe working in accounting can be exciting when you can help other people meet their financial needs.

What aspects of your TXCPA/TXCPA East Texas membership do you find most valuable?
Not only does a TXCPA/TXCPA East Texas membership offer great options for CPE and continuing education, but it offers a great community of fellow accountants with which you can network. In my opinion, the most valuable aspect of this membership is the ability to connect with other accountants and discuss new opportunities, new ways to grow the profession, and new ways to impact the community.
