Volunteer on a Committee
Want to get involved without taking on a board position? Consider volunteering on a committee. You can share your ideas, help bring events to life and support programs that benefit TXCPA East Texas members and the accounting profession.
- CPE Committee: Help identify topics and speakers for continuing professional education programs.
- Golf Tournament Committee: Help plan and coordinate the chapter’s golf tournament.
- Pipeline Committee: Support initiatives that introduce students to accounting and encourage the next generation of CPAs.
- Young and Emerging Professionals Committee: Help create opportunities for younger members to connect, learn and get involved.

Interested in taking a more active leadership role? Serving on the TXCPA East Texas Board of Directors is an opportunity to help guide the chapter, support members and advance the accounting profession in your community.
Board members help shape chapter priorities, support programs and events, and bring member perspectives to the table. Explore the positions below to learn more about the responsibilities involved.
Board of Directors Positions
President
Provides overall leadership for the chapter, presides over Board meetings, helps set priorities, and ensures the chapter’s programs and activities support its goals and TXCPA’s strategic direction. Serves on the TXCPA Leadership Council, is invited to attend one TXCPA Board of Directors meeting as a guest, and participates in quarterly Chapter Leader Calls. One-year term.
President-Elect
Prepares to lead the chapter in the following year by helping set future priorities, planning leadership development, and serving as chair of the Tal Glenn Memorial Golf Tournament. Is invited to attend one TXCPA Board of Directors meeting as a guest and participates in quarterly Chapter Leader Calls. Attends quarterly Presidents-elect Orientation trainings. One-year term and succeeds the President in the following fiscal year.
Vice President
Supports the President and President-Elect and serves as chair of the CPE Committee. Responsibilities may vary based on the chapter’s needs. Serves as President or President-Elect in their absence, as applicable. One-year term.
Secretary/Treasurer
Helps maintain the chapter’s records and ensures financial reports are provided to the Board of Directors. Serves as chair of the Young & Emerging Professionals Committee. One-year term.
Director
Represents the membership and helps guide the chapter’s direction by participating in Board discussions, approving policies, staying informed on chapter and profession issues, and fulfilling fiduciary responsibilities. Three directors are elected each year to serve two-year terms.
Immediate Past President
Provides continuity and institutional knowledge to the Board while supporting leadership, nominations, and other chapter priorities. Serves as chair of the Nominating Committee. One-year term.
