TXCPA East Texas Announces 2026–2027 Academic Scholarship Recipients

TXCPA East Texas is proud to announce the recipients of its 2026–2027 Academic Accounting Scholarships, recognizing seven outstanding students for their academic achievement and commitment to the accounting profession.

This year’s recipients include:

  • Logan Heausler, Stephen F. Austin State University — $5,000
  • Kaitlyn Lewis, University of Texas at Tyler — $5,000 
  • Cayden Mitcham, University of Texas at Tyler — $2,500 
  • Dylan Navarette, University of Texas at Tyler — $5,000 
  • Brian Shine, University of Texas at Tyler — $3,000 
  • Alexander Speiser, University of Texas at Tyler — $5,500 
  • Melanie Spencer, University of Texas at Tyler — $5,000

In total, $32,000 in scholarships was awarded for the 2026–2027 academic year.

To be eligible for a TXCPA East Texas scholarship, applicants must have an overall GPA of at least 3.0, be a full-time student, and be a declared accounting major with at least nine hours of completed accounting coursework. Recipients are selected based on academic performance and their potential to contribute to the accounting profession.

Each year, TXCPA East Texas hosts the Tal Glenn Memorial Golf Tournament to raise scholarship funds for accounting students across East Texas. Since its inception in 1996, the program has awarded more than $425,000 in scholarships.
