TXCPA East Texas Celebrates Awards and Recognition at State Annual Meeting
TXCPA East Texas members joined colleagues from across the state for TXCPA’s Annual Meeting of Members and Leadership Council Meeting, held June 25–26 in San Antonio. The two-day gathering brought together accounting professionals for connection, collaboration, and forward-looking conversations about the future of TXCPA and the profession.
TXCPA East Texas had a standout showing at the awards luncheon, earning statewide recognition for leadership, service, and excellence in the accounting profession.
The chapter was named Outstanding Medium Chapter, honoring a strong year of impact through education, outreach, scholarships, and community service. From supporting future CPAs to active participation in CPA Month of Service, TXCPA East Texas demonstrated a consistent commitment to advancing the profession and serving the East Texas community. Congratulations to Immediate Past President Kevan Kirksey and all members for an exceptional year.
TXCPA East Texas members also received individual honors. Dr. Stephanie Ross was recognized as Outstanding Accounting Educator (Medium College/University), an award presented to Texas accounting educators who demonstrate excellence in teaching and service to the profession. Dr. Ross, a dedicated educator at Stephen F. Austin State University and TXCPA East Texas Faculty Ambassador, brings more than 15 years of CPA experience in both industry and public accounting into the classroom. Her work supporting students through NABA and the Accounting Club, leadership with CPA2B Bootcamp, and co-creation of the School of Accountancy Bootcamp continues to shape the next generation of accounting professionals.
Shelby Cannon and Katie Lightfoot were also named TXCPA Rising Stars, recognizing members under 40 who are making a significant impact through leadership, innovation, and service to both the profession and their communities.
