What inspired you to pursue a career in accounting and obtain your CPA license?
I wanted a career where I could look under the hood of different companies, understand how they make money, and help them solve complex operational puzzles. Every client is a different 'puzzle' and I really enjoy learning about different businesses and giving them financial guidance.

What excites you most about working in accounting?
What excites me most is the direct, human impact of the financial work. There is nothing more rewarding than delivering really good news to a client, whether that is finding unexpected tax savings, proving their business is more profitable than they realized, or helping them hit a major financial milestone. On the flip side, I love being the person who can take a major headache away. Financial compliance and cash flow can be incredibly stressful for business owners. When I can step in, untangle a complex problem, and give them peace of mind, it transforms accounting from a back-office task into a truly impactful partnership. I get excited about being a trusted advisor who helps clients breathe easier and focus on what they do best.

What aspects of your TXCPA/TXCPA East Texas membership do you find most valuable?
What I find most valuable about my TXCPA and TXCPA East Texas membership is the genuine community built through networking with my peers. In many industries, professionals view each other strictly as adversaries, but within our chapter, there is a deep understanding that we are not competitors, we are colleagues who help each other. The regulatory landscape changes so rapidly, and having a trusted local network means we can share insights, discuss complex technical updates, and elevate the entire profession together. It is incredibly rewarding to be part of an environment where everyone is invested in each other’s success and willing to lend a hand when a unique professional challenge arises
