This course meets Texas State Board of Public Accountancy requirements for 4.0 hours Ethics CPE. This course was originally approved by TSBPA on July 19, 2012. V. 2.0, approved 5/9/2020. Dr. Carolyn Conn is author of this course, 2012, updated 2020. Dr. Carolyn Conn, PhD, CPA, CFE, is a Clinical Associate Professor of accounting at Texas State University who teaches accounting Ethics, fraud examination, and CPE accounting Ethics courses. She has experience in multiple university administrative positions, including payroll and budgeting, controller, & Associate VP of financial services. She was one of two project sponsors for implementation of ERP software for accounting, budgeting, payroll, and human resources. Dr. Conn's teaching & research interests include ethics and ethical decision-making along with fraud prevention and detection. She was honored as the 2021 Association of CFEs Educator of the year. In May 2025, she was recognized as a Piper Professor; each year only 10 are chosen with the state of Texas.
