TXCPA Panhandle, a chapter of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, was founded Nov. 21, 1939. Our mission is to professionally support the members of the Panhandle Chapter as they work toward professional pursuits as CPAs.
We serve TXCPA members in 25 Texas counties including: Armstrong, Briscoe, Carson, Castro, Collingsworth, Dallam, Deaf Smith, Donley, Gray, Hall, Hansford, Hartley, Hemphill, Hutchinson, Lipscomb, Moore, Ochiltree, Oldham, Parmer, Potter, Randall, Roberts, Sherman, Swisher, Wheeler.
The chapter focuses on providing its membership with high quality, affordable continuing professional education while cultivating professional cooperation and social interaction among the members. The chapter is very successful in retaining excellent speakers and local facilities are quite comfortable for a positive learning environment at CPE seminars.
Service to the community has long been a hallmark of the chapter. Members contribute time promoting accounting careers by teaching, mentoring, and tutoring students. Members have participated in different areas of public education to promote the CPA career field by proctoring academic decathlons, judging in UIL Accounting competitions, participating in career days, judging in DECA Conferences and being involved with the Amarillo Independent School District's "Ready for the Real World" events.
The chapter has provided consistent support to West Texas A&M University and was inducted into the Old Main Society for contributing more than $50,000 in scholarships over the years. The chapter offers three UIL scholarships and two scholarships at West Texas A&M University.
