Thinking about becoming a CPA? Come chat with people who are already doing it. TXCPA Southeast Texas is hosting CPA Chats on Oct. 20 at Lamar University, giving students a chance to meet local CPAs, ask questions and get a better feel for what a career in accounting can look like.
The CPA Chats conference room will be open from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Galloway 242. Students can stop by anytime to connect with local CPAs and talk about the profession, career paths and what it’s like to work in accounting. No formal registration is required, so just stop by and bring your questions. Lunch will be provided.
Students interested in the CPA Exam can also join Clare Burns at 12:45 p.m. in Galloway 127 for a workshop on filing a Letter of Intent to take the CPA Exam. Special guests will also visit the Cost Accounting class at 9:30 a.m. and the Taxation class at 2 p.m., giving students in those classes another opportunity to hear from professionals in the field.
