TXCPA Southeast Texas Hosts Successful Spring Chapter Meeting at Lamar University
The TXCPA Southeast Texas Spring Chapter Meeting at Lamar University was a resounding success, bringing together accounting students, faculty, and professionals for an afternoon of celebration, connection, and inspiration.
The event recognized several outstanding individuals for their academic excellence and contributions to the profession. Congratulations to our scholarship recipients Brady Freeman, Chase Smith, and Jason Tristan. We also celebrated Bianca Guerrero, recipient of the TXCPA Accounting Education Foundation’s Accounting Excellence Award, and Dr. Ricardo Colon, CPA, who received the Lamar Faculty Research Award.
We extend heartfelt appreciation to Megan Gallien, CPA, for her dedicated service as Chapter President. In recognition of exceptional service, Marylyn Byrd, CPA, was presented with the President’s Special Recognition Award.
Attendees also had the privilege of hearing from featured speaker Dr. Mohan Kuruvilla, CPA, TXCPA’s 2024-25 Chair. Dr. Kuruvilla shared his insights on the profession’s future and the importance of adaptability and leadership in accounting.
