2025-2026 Chapter Committee Sign Up

Please review the committee options below and sign up for the ones you are interested in. You can serve on more than one committee. Committees will meet virtually at the beginning of the new chapter year in June and will schedule additional meetings throughout the year as needed. Committee chairs are invited to attend chapter board meetings to give a report to the board on what their committee is working on.

Committee Descriptions:

Student Outreach: This committee is responsible for coordination and implementation of student events and coordinating projects and activities with local student accounting groups. The goal is to develop a relationship with both students and professors at local colleges and universities.

CPA-PAC (Public Affairs): This committee coordinates CPA-PAC fundraising for the Chapter, with assistance from the TXCPA. They communicate with Chapter members on state legislation, current, proposed and possible, affecting the profession of accountancy. This committee will arrange for legislators to visit Chapter meetings and discuss the profession's interests and coordinate with TXCPA's CPA-PAC regarding candidate contributions.

CPE Committee: The CPE Committee is responsible for identifying and assisting in securing appropriate speakers for Chapter luncheons, the Annual Tax Conference, and additional CPE courses throughout the chapter year. The committee will work with the Chapter Executive Director to coordinate the delivery of programs including assisting in finding meeting locations, convenient dates and times and helping to run the day of operations at each event.

This committee is chaired by the Chapter's President-Elect.

Community Involvement: This committee will work to schedule service projects in the chapter area throughout the year. They will be responsible for finding activities and projects chapter members can volunteer for, coordinating the volunteer process, and running the service project the day of the event.

Membership: This committee is charged with actively promoting membership with TXCPA and the local chapter. They will proactively lead the Chapter's participation in statewide joint membership campaigns. Before their memberships are terminated for nonpayment of dues, committee members will follow up with members who fail to renew membership in TXCPA and the Chapter and make personal, member-to-member contact if possible.

Young Emerging Leaders: This is a newly established committee that will be responsible for planning networking events for young CPAs in the chapter.
