Supporting the Next Generation of CPAs: Fort Worth Chapter Endowment Scholarship Fund

In 2023, TXCPA Fort Worth leadership took an important step to invest in the future of the accounting profession by creating an endowed scholarship fund for local accounting students. To carry out this vision, the Chapter partnered with AcctoFi—the newly launched nonprofit brand of TXCPA's longtime charitable arm, the Accounting Education Foundation (AEF). AcctoFi powers our shared mission to support the CPA pipeline through scholarships, awards, and expert-led education.

The Fort Worth Endowed Scholarship is now awarded through AcctoFi, ensuring long-term support for aspiring CPAs in our region. A milestone fundraising event in 2024 raised $25,000 in seed funding, thanks to the generosity and commitment of our members and friends.

Together, we’re building a legacy of support for future CPAs in Fort Worth and the rural communities we serve.

They may be retired, but they are deeply invested in the future. This gift was given by a married couple—both CPAs—who wanted their legacy to live on through the accounting profession. Becoming CPAs gave them far more than successful careers; it opened doors, created opportunities, and shaped their lives in meaningful ways. Through this scholarship, they hope to ease some of the financial challenges associated with earning a CPA license and to encourage students to persevere. Their message is simple but powerful: Hang in there. The accounting profession will open doors for you. This gift reflects more than a commitment to numbers—it reflects care. It reminds accounting students that CPAs genuinely care about their success and want them to know they are supported every step of the way.

Fort Worth Members

The 2023 TXCPA Fort Worth Board voted to invest $25,000 of its reserve funds into this scholarship because they recognized that supporting future CPAs is one of the most meaningful ways to strengthen the profession. This investment reflects the board's confidence that today's students will become tomorrow's CPAs, volunteers, leaders, and advocates for the profession.

Knox Family - Endowed Scholarship Contribution

Knox Family

As a family of accounting professionals, we believe in reaching back to help the next generation move forward. We chose to contribute to the Fort Worth Endowed Scholarship because we believe financial circumstances should not stand in the way of a capable student pursuing an accounting education or becoming a CPA. We have also seen how challenging it can be to attract qualified candidates into our profession, and we believe supporting students is an important part of strengthening its future. Accounting has provided our family with meaningful opportunities, and we are grateful for the chance to help create those same opportunities for the next generation. For us, this gift is an investment in students, in our profession, and in the future of accounting.
