IRS Inconsistent Policy on Taxpayer Interviews

Tax practitioners have reported that some IRS Revenue Agents are demanding direct taxpayer interviews even when they have a valid Form 2848, Power of Attorney. Practitioners should remain alert to interview requests from IRS agents that may exceed the IRS’s statutory authority.

Electronic Signatures: Permanently Accepted on Some Paper-File-Only Forms

The IRS permanently approved using electronic signatures for certain forms that must still be filed on paper. The change streamlines the filing process by making it easier to complete and submit required documents.

I would love to tell you a story about finding a passion for helping business owners or saving people money on their tax returns. The honest truth is I realized being a CPA was going to give me a job forever and help me build the lifestyle I wanted. I enjoy travel, fancy restaurants, and good wine. Being a CPA has given me a path to that. Along the way I have certainly enjoyed helping people (I'm not a monster y'all), but its not the actual WHY that drove my choice.

I was excited to get involved in my local chapter and give back to the community. I actively participated in events and the chapter followed up with lots of opportunities for me to serve and lead.
