Michael Kraten, Ph.D., CPA 
TXCPA Houston 2020-2021 Significant Contribution by a Member in Education

Dr. Michael Kraten joined the Houston Chapter after moving to Houston in 2019. As the Houston Baptist University Chair of Accounting, Economics, and Finance Programs, Michael encouraged students to join TXCPA Houston's Student Auxiliary, apply for accounting scholarships, serve as officers, and attend Chapter events to learn about the accounting profession. In 2020-2021, Michael also worked closely with the CFO/COO to host webinars on a variety of topics to interest, educate, and entertain members as they dealt with issues and life changes relating to the pandemic. He continues to be a breath of fresh air on so many levels and encourages students to push themselves to attain their goals.
