Spring is here. Tax filing deadlines have been extended. Perhaps you anxiously await the completion of your COVID vaccination. Travel plans? In-person events? Life looks better but caution remains for all in 2021.
As you make your summer and fall plans, remember your opportunity to give back to your profession – join a committee! June 1 begins the new fiscal year and committee planning will be in full swing. Your participation on one of the 20+ TXCPA Houston committees can provide you with new members in your professional network – exchange new ideas with peers, provide support and suggestions, and so much more! Your concepts can add tremendous benefit to membership or young professional networking events, fundraising ideas for accounting scholarships or the CPAs Helping Schools grant program, or you can share career information with high school or university students or plan continuing education programs topics. YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Student Auxiliary Wants You!
Have you attended any of the recent Student Auxiliary programs? The 2020-21 Student Officers made successful strides last year as they planned virtual events, with no prior history to follow. What does that mean? The Steering Committee is seeking additional professionals within TXCPA Houston's membership to serve as mentors and provide feedback on 2021-22 planning. The time commitment is 4 – 6 evening hours per month.
