Our members are active in the legislative events in Texas each year including consolidated state efforts in Austin at the beginning of every legislative session. We discuss the effects of currently proposed legislation, which can contain unintended consequences, and we propose new legislation to improve current taxation and financial reporting in Texas.
The result is protection of CPA licenses throughout the state and protection of the public’s interest. Our efforts do require funding. Contribute to protect your license. Not sure how much to contribute? A donation of $100 will provide you a weekly update and commentary on our efforts in Texas during the legislative sessions. We work closely on this initiative in coordination with other TXCPA chapters.
