Celebrating a New TXCPA Year

TXCPA's incoming Chair Angela Ragan welcomes the new year, highlighting members’ role in strengthening the profession through mentorship, innovation and engagement. Looking ahead, TXCPA will focus on navigating continued change, supporting members with education and advocacy, and protecting the value of the CPA license.

As we begin a new TXCPA year, I’m honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve as your Chair. Stepping into this role, I feel a deep sense of pride in our profession and, even more so, in the strength of the TXCPA community. Together, we represent a network of trusted advisors, innovators and leaders who make a meaningful difference across Texas every day.

What inspires me most is the way our members consistently step forward – whether mentoring students, leading in their organizations or giving back in their communities. That spirit of service is at the heart of TXCPA. It’s also what ensures our profession remains strong, relevant and prepared for what lies ahead. If you are looking for a way to connect and serve this year, please reach out to the TXCPA team to learn about the variety of ways you can give back.

This year, we will continue to embrace both opportunity and change. Advancements in technology, evolving business environments and new pathways into the profession are reshaping what it means to be a CPA. Our impact and strength as a community will be vital to protecting the meaningful value of the CPA license in Texas as we prepare for the 2027 Texas Legislative Session. TXCPA is committed to helping you navigate these changes with confidence – through learning opportunities, connections, and advocacy alerts that keep you informed and supported.

As you explore this issue of Today’s CPA, you’ll find insights on critical topics impacting our work – from tax planning strategies to emerging technologies and audit innovation.  These conversations reflect the dynamic nature of our profession and the value we bring as trusted advisors.

I’m truly looking forward to the year ahead and to connecting with you as I attend chapter events, hear your perspectives, and work alongside an incredible group of leaders and volunteers. Thank you for your continued engagement with TXCPA and for the role each of you plays in advancing our profession.

Here’s to a successful, impactful year ahead!
