Julie Desimone

Julie is Moss Adams' firm-wide industry group leader for the Energy practice, working in advanced utility accounting, regulatory assets and liabilities, technical auditing, contracting, internal control evaluation, litigation support, and relationship management. Julie has served as a member of the firm's Executive Committee as well as a member of several professional affiliations, and is an active public speaker on technical, operational and industry related issues.

Holly Heard

Dr. Holly Heard is Vice President of Data and Analytics at Texas 2036, a nonpartisan nonprofit using data-driven strategies to advocate for common-sense state policies. Dr. Heard leads the data team with a focus on using data to provide answers to key policy questions. Recent projects include the Strategic Framework, a data platform tracking over 150 metrics across 36 aspirational goals for Texas’ future; States for the Future, a learning network of state-level organizations focused on bringing data and policy together; and the Understanding Texas Women dashboard, a collection of metrics tracking the well-being of women in Texas. Dr. Heard joined Texas 2036 from the Houston Education Research Consortium, an educational research-practice partnership at Rice University, where she managed a secure educational database for more than 20 researchers and led multiple research projects, including the Study on Social and Emotional Skills, an international survey sponsored by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. She received her Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, her M.A. from Penn State University, and her B.A. from the University of Notre Dame.

Ben has more than 15 years of upstream oil and gas experience at Martindale, with a special expertise in revenue and royalty projects for both on and offshore properties. Ben leads or manages many of Martindale’s revenue related projects. Ben’s knowledge and expertise includes revenue and royalty audits, lease interpretation and analysis, gas plant operations and accounting, net profit and royalty trust audits. Ben currently serves as co-chair for the Council of Petroleum Accounts Society (COPAS) Accounting Guideline 15 (Gas Accounting Manual) re-write project team and has also served as the Revenue Committee co-chair for COPAS Oklahoma City Society.

Chris Matlock has over 29 years of experience as a professional money manager and joined Goodman Financial Corporation in 2017, serving as its Chief Investment Officer. His responsibilities include chairing the firm’s Investment Committee, implementing the firm’s investment policy and strategy, oversight of investment research activity, and monitoring the firm’s holdings. Christine Mazor

Christine Mazor is an audit partner with over 25 years of experience in serving significant domestic and global clients. Currently, she serves as a partner on the SEC Reporting and Business Combinations subject matter teams in Accounting & Reporting Services in Deloitte’s National Office, assisting clients and engagement teams with applying SEC regulations in capital market transactions including IPOs, SPACs, mergers, spin-offs, and debt offerings. Christine’s responsibilities include consultation on SEC reporting matters and interpretation of regulations and following current developments in SEC rulemaking, including the SEC’s guidance and final rule on cybersecurity disclosures. She is also extensively involved in the authoring and production of published interpretive guidance on SEC related matters, including Deloitte’s Roadmap to Non-GAAP Financial Measures and Heads Up publications on cybersecurity disclosures.

Matt has been with Martindale Consultants for 16 years and currently serves as Vice President of Audit in Oklahoma City. Matt earned a B.S. in Finance from the University of Central Oklahoma. He is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and recently served as the Chair of the COPAS Audit Committee and is an active member of the COPAS - Oklahoma City society and Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Oklahoma City chapter. Matt manages Martindale’s audit department with a focus on joint interest audits, vendor audits, litigation support, internal projects, audit resolution, and general joint interest and COPAS consultation. He specializes in helping clients with the entire joint interest and vendor audit process, from audit selection through resolution.

Michael Spaniol is a Director with PricewaterhouseCoopers’ national ESG practice, with over 18 years of experience in directing audit engagements of public and private companies in the energy industry. Michael has been responsible for serving a variety of energy clients, dealing with issues in midstream commodity transportation and storage, oil and natural gas production, and downstream refining and distribution. He has an in-depth understanding of the SEC registration process and has assisted multiple clients with the initial public offerings as well as equity and debt transactions. Leveraging his SEC reporting background, he currently assists clients across a broad spectrum of industries to interpret and assess organizational readiness to implement the proposed SEC Climate rule. As part of PwC’s ESG and Sustainability services practice, he works closely with clients to assist in their ESG reporting strategy and has experience in sustainability readiness and assurance engagements related to key performance indicators such as greenhouse gas emissions, energy use, diversity & inclusion and health & safety. Additionally, Mike has extensive experience with the development and implementation of ESG business process and controls including sustainability reporting. He has also assisted multiple Fortune 500 companies design and implement controls over GHG emissions in preparation for potential SEC Climate rule disclosure requirements. Michael is a CPA in the state of Texas, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and is holder of the Certificate in ESG Investing from the CFA Institute.
