December 2020 is your opportunity to support the TXCPA Month of Service. You may participate through charitable donations, virtual volunteer events, or in-person activities to make a difference through service in your community.

The original 2015 CPA Day of Service has expanded to a full month each year to offer more flexibility to members. In 2020 the recommended focus is on financial literacy education and service, which is a year-round need for people of all ages.

Below are just a few local 501c3 foundations that offer financial literacy programs as part of their services.

Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation aims to improve the quality of life for Houstonians of all ages through the power of literacy. Learn more

Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas helps prepare today’s students for a bright future. Learn more

Houston Food Bank collaborates with a network of 1,500 community partners to aid thousands of individuals each week through innovative programs and services. Learn more

Consider a year-end contribution AND support of financial literacy during the TXCPA Month of Service. If you choose to volunteer this month, please share that data with TXCPA Houston for inclusion on the chapter’s final report of our volunteers’ community service activities. If you have photos to share, please include that with your volunteer information at chapter@houstoncpa.org. Please use #TXCPAservice in your social posts when sharing any photos or updates on social media. We want to know the great service you are performing.
